My questions:
Other:
- Basically my Xbox won't boot to Xell after writing the XEX file.
Intro
- I have experience with the original jtaging, but this is my first time doing the Reset Glitch Hack.
- I didn't do enough research, and didn't know about RJtag until I already received my CoolRunner (I already know that RJtag is better).
What I have:
- CoolRunner rev C
- JProgrammer v2
- X-Nand
Xbox Hardware:
- Jasper 512 MB
- Dash: 2.0.16*** (Don't have it in front of me)
- CB: 6754
What I have done:
- Attached the X-Nand and successfully copied my Nand. (I pulled the Nand a bunch of times, compared it with no issues)
- I know that it is correct because when I tried to boot into Xell to get the cpu key, the xbox wouldn't display anything so I just wrote the nand back and it booted without issues
- Attached the CoolRunner to my xbox using this guide for RGH2
- I was a little confused about the opening and closing circuits because on the chip there was little black pieces joining the points (I removed these for the following)
- Opened the jumper
- 1-2 Closed
- Closed Capture
- Attached the JProgrammer to my computer and then programmed CoolRunner (tried A, B, C, D, Falcon)
Downloaded JRunner:
- Selected RGH2
- Read the Nand
- Created the XEX
- Wrote the XEX
My questions:
- What were those black pieces on the CoolRunner that were joining that points that you were allowed to modify?
- My CoolRunner came with a long blue wire, no brown or green, what is the blue wire for? (I created my own brown and green wire)
- What is the longest I should wait for CoolRunner to glitch my xbox on boot up?
- Am I suppose to make the shielded cable as short as possible?
- I noticed that the JProgramer has a rater which tests how long a glitch takes to boot, is this only useable if you actually have the system glitched?
- If I get the same bad blocks on all my nand reads, and can write the nand back to the xbox without issue with booting, then do I accept the bad blocks as being "normal"?
Other:
- Yes, the CoolRunner is switched to PMGR when programming, and NOR when I am trying to boot the Xbox.
- Yes, the Xbox does boot when CoolRunner is switched to PMGR before I write the XEX file.
- I bought the JProgrammer to specifically program CoolRunner.
- I ran the C wire around the xclamp to and through the hole on the other side of it, completely avoiding the "keep wires away from here" section.
- Yes the shielded cable is grounded to the av port.
- Didn't use a QSB, all wires are directly to the soldered to the point.
