RGH Jr Programmer v2 Not Found

I recently purchased the cool runner rev c and jr programmer v2 for my phat falcon, including the nandx qsbs.

The issue I am having is with the jr programmer.

Initially I plugged the jr programmer into my laptop and the hardware manager appeared to confirm it was installing the drivers for the jr programmer. This finished successfully, unfortunately I did not check device manager at this point to confirm it was under processors. At this point the light was a solid green.

I soldered the two qsbs for reading the nandx to my xbox motherboard and then plugged the cables from the qsbs into the jr programmer, then I plugged in the xbox power and did not switch the console on, I then plugged the usb from the jr programmer to my laptop and chose read nand and selected falcon. The output screen in jrunner simply said manually selected falcon and nothing further happened. I touched up the soldering and followed the same procedure a few times (I am running as administrator).

After a few failed attempts I did some digging and I am unable to see the jr programmer in device manager under processors. In fact I am unable to see it under any section, no devices appear with exclamations or question marks. The usb does not make a sound when it is plugged in and when plugging the device in when looking at the device manager screen, the screen does not refresh as you would expect when introducing new hardware. Effectively it is not being seen at all.

I have since plugged it into two further pcs and the driver has not been installed this time, unlike when I first plugged it in and it was acknowledged.

Throughout the jr programmer light has always been green solid. The switch on the side with the reset button is pushed away from the rest button and similarly the switch on the other side of the board (I am not sure what this is), is pushed away from the usb.

I read about potentially resetting the device and updating the firmware in jrunner, I understand the file necessary is PICFLASH_E_1_0_5-JRP-V2.HEX and I have located this. I flicked the switch towards the reset button and then pressed the reset and the light went red. I flicked the switch back away from the reset, plugged the jr programmer into the laptop and attempted to update the firmware, however the message simply says device not found.

I can't seem to find any other information that pushes me any further forward hence the question so if anyone can point me in the right direction or give me some more ideas of what to try I would greatly appreciate it.

I RGH'ed my trinity with the proto v2 and had it booting in 1 to 3 sycles (sometimes 5 or more) with DIP 2, 4, 5, with CAP 10, I think yellow wire on 70 and blue on 47 and it worked for a few months, then it refused to boot even though it was still glitching so I turned off DIP 2 and it went back to normal, another few months later(today) it is again refusing to boot even though it is still glitching, help please!

Trinity rev-c RGH help

So I've been working on my trinity for the last few weeks. It's my first one so it's been taking me some time. I've been getting stuck here and there but overall it's gone okay.
2 days ago I dumped the NAND using a JRP v1.1. It gave me 258 and 218 error on every block it read in jrunner, so I checked all my solder points, went over them all and then cleaned them up after. It gave me a perfect read no bad blocks. I copied nanddump_1.bin and saved it as Orig_NAND.bin to my desktop. Then I programmed my coolrunner rev c. When it was done the green light turned off like it was supposed to. I selected trinity, dash 16547 and rgh 2. Then I created ecc. Then I writed ecc. Then the guide I was following said to put the coolrunner in and take the JRP off the board. So I did that. This is my problem, when I was all done. I plugged in the power brick of my box. Put in my av cables. Tryed to turn it on with a controller but it didn't work. So I plugged in the ribbon cable for the faceplate. It beeps but won't turn the box on. The power brick light stays yellow all the time. So I went back and tried to tidy up the board more and go over my soldering. Still no luck. Someone help me please.

Hi everyone,

Didn't realize I registered back in 2011 and never made a post. But here is my first one:)

RGH RGH2 Coolrunner need confirmation of the process

I'll try to keep this short.

I have purchased:
jr programmer v2
nandx phat qsbs
coolrunner rev c

I have a phat falcon and currently I have the Qsbs soldered to the board and have successfully taken 4 nand dumps that are confirmed as the same.

The issue is that I have several guides with conflicting information between youtube and tutorials. When duming the nand I am told by this guide:

http://www.ixtreme.net/jtag-rgh/2007...oolrunner.html

Check the number in the 2BL [CB] field. The CB needs to be one of the following to use RGH1.

Zephyr: 4578, 4579
Falcon and Opus: 5771
Jasper: 6750, 6751

Mine reads 5774 therefore I am advised to use the RGH2 method. I am correct in thinking that I do not need to write xell? When writing xell the console boots but the screen is blank both with the hdmi and av cable, I have written back the original nand dump and the console is now displaying again.

Also in accordance with the previous guide after doing the nand dumps, the next thing I needed to do is to program the cool runner using a rgh2 setting in jrunner and selecting falcon for my particular case, I have done this ensuring the cool runner was set to phat and had the prog switch set.

So am I also now right in thinking i simply set the switch to norm and soldering the cool runner to the board in accordance with this guide:

http://team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=86539

Using of course the rgh2 wiring method.

Just to sum it up, do I not need xell as many guides and tutorials seems to talk about this and the cpu key etc. Do I simply, dump the nands (done), program the cool runner (done), solder the coolrunner to rgh2 wiring specs and the job done?

RGH Xell Blank screen/black screen Flashing Green Light

Ok second post today.

I have a phat falcon that I am trying to RGH2 using a coolrunner rev c.

I have purchased the qsbs nandx v3 and soldered these to the motherboard. Using a jr programmer v2 I have successfully compared 4 nands and they are the same.

Test 1. I plug the xbox in it boots and the dashboard appears as expected (qsbs attached to motherboard).

Using jrunner I can see:
2BL[CB_A]: 5774 which apparently means I need to RGH2
6BL[CF] Patch 0: 16537

I load nanddump01 as the source, select 16537 as the dash, select RGH2 and click create ecc, then write ecc. The write is successful with 0 errors.

Test 2. I turn on the xbox and the green light on the front flashes continuously, the screen is blank and the TV reports no signal. (qsbs attached to motherboard)

I install the cool runner, remove the resistor from jp and leave the connections unbridged. I remove the resistor for points 1 and 2 and then bridge them. I have not yet tested bridging the cap points. The cool runner is programmed via jrunner under falcon settings.

I wire the coolrunner in accordance with the RGH2 instructions here:
http://team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=86539

Test 3. I turn on the xbox and again the light flashes green and a blank/black screen shows, with no signal being reported. (qsbs and coolrunner attached to motherboard)

With the coolrunner installed I flash the nand back to stock, read the nand and then compare against offsite backups to confirm they match.

Test 4. I turn the xbox on and three red light indicating a general hardware failure has occurred.(qsbs and coolrunner attached to motherboard)

I have left the console on for approximately 10 minutes in test 3 stage in order to see if this was due to some form of boot time issue as explained in other threads, however the behaviour remains the same, flashing green light and blank screen.

Firstly does the cool runner need to be installed in order to boot xell? or do you simply flash the nand and you should be able to boot xell regardless of whether the coolrunner has been installed yet.

Second, can anyone suggest why xell would not be booting, if the above is true that coolrunner is not required to boot xell, then surely if I can read/flash the nand successfully I should not need to do much more than simply write xell to the nand and boot the console.

I suppose the last thing is whether there is an alternate method to retrieve the cpu key.

Many thanks
