Weird way I stopped PIF spikes
Hi,
A little background. I have an iHAS burner (D) that I use the MAX payload tool with. I had been getting good results with printable (white) singapore verbs, MKM003. I had been told the non-printable were better, but I was getting burns well within the recommendations 90% of the time anyway (PIF Max 4, PIF Av 0.20, PIE Max 100, PIE Max 5). Anyway, I got my hands on a 25-spindle of Verbs that were non-printable, singapore, MKM003 also.
I burned without changing any settings (same mediacode..) and the discs would burn OK except for where it mattered. Toward the edge of the disc I would get these INCREDIBLE PIF spikes. I'm not talking 6-8, I'm talking over 20 etc. So clearly, that's not suitable, even for my spare non-Live console. I went through around 12 discs of the spindle, same results every time, but I would simply not change my Lite-ON drive settings or ImgBurn settings in case I screwed up my burning of the white printable discs too (as originally it did take me maybe 10 discs before they burned right).
I ordered a new pack of printable discs but decided instead of just relegating the remaining non-printable verbs to older games I would try stupid experiments with them. The first thing I tried, very oddly, "worked", and it had nothing to do with settings. Basically, I noticed the one major difference between the printable and non-printable discs is the white surface. It feels kind of gritty to the touch and so I had this dumb idea.. maybe toward the edge of the disc where we are burning beyond design-intent, where the die is more inconsistent and unreliable, it would help to try to make that area more opaque on the non-writable side. So I literally just did this...
![]()
Yes, my super technical solution was to use a green permanent marker to spread around the edges of the disc. So i expected there to be absolutely no difference but after three discs, I haven't gotten a spike around the edge of the disc beyond 4 since....
![]()
Now, you don't need to tell me that this result isn't that good either, given the PI Error average of 7.81, but I did burn a couple of discs below the 5 threshold too, it just so happens this is the only one I saved the screenshot of and of course it would be the one where the average was above 5. Just to note too, this disc would be absolutely fine to play if you were unconcerned about LIVE.
However, that's not what I'm pointing out, what I'm pointing out is the PIF spikes I was getting seemed to suddenly disappear. I attempted a burn without the green marker and it came back right away, PIF spike to 16 at the edge. Can anyone shed any light on why this might actually make a difference? Or is it just a coincidence?
As a side note, before anybody asks, it does not help to apply the green marker to discs already burned and failed, they still fail. I tried to see if the marker ink might be obscuring the real results.
Any ideas??

SATA connector busted on a phat lite-on
I desoldered what remained of the sata connector and all I need to know is where I can buy a new one.
Or, I read some where that you could hack an actual sata cable and solder it on the pcb, idk if thats true but if it is can someone hook me up with the layout.
Thank you in advance.

no spi status on 16d4s after accidently hitting read...
Okay so i was in the middle of flashing a kamikaze 16d4s for a client and at the point where i was supposed to hit write i accidently hit read while moving the mouse to the write button. Now in the box where the spi status is supposed to be it is blank and nothing is there. I can't write because everytime i try it gets stuck at the first dot of "writing bank 1". I tried to erase it and that gets stuck at "sending sector erase to port 0x0000". I'm able to perform the slim key command still thou. I already slapped a replacement pcb on the customers board but i would like to bring this one back to life if i can too save money. Thanks in advance.

GENERAL Set L0 Data Zone Capacity Failed! Error in ImgBurn Log.
I have noticed that when burning a disc with ImgBurn im getting this message in the log window:
Set L0 Data Zone Capacity Failed! - Reason: Invalid Field in Parameter List
I have only noticed this error message happening with the last 2 discs i have burnt and never noticed it before, looking up this error is would appear this is due to the recent update to ImgBurn!?. I have the LiteOn iHas124 DVD drive which (bought pre-flashed) and have always used Verbatim DL discs.
People have suggested and had success re-flashing their dvd drives and then this error doesn't appear anymore, but why would re-flash the drive fix this error as its obviously its to do with the update to ImgBurn and not the actual DVD drive?
The 2 discs i have burn seem to install and play fine on my 360 however!, so is this just a bug in the latest version of Imgburn?.....to be fair i would much rather just roll back to the previous version of Imgburn than re-flash the DVD drive.
If it is suggested to re-flash my drive is there a guide on here on how to do it please?

Rockstar issues video upload guidelines on Grand Theft Auto 5 launch day
Hey internet. Hello? Hellooo? Ah, who am I kidding - you're all off playing GTA V aren't you? Well if you are, and if you plan on livestreaming your derring-dos and don't dos, Rockstar's support page has a few friendly guidelines it'd like you to bear in mind. "Generally Take-Two Interactive does not object to fans using materials for non-commercial uses in a manner which does not intentionally spoil the plot for others," the statement reads, though goes on to say that "Take-Two Interactive does reserve the right to have its copyrighted material taken down at any time.![]()
"We're happy for fans to upload footage of their gameplay - we love seeing machinima from our games and even share some of it with our fans on the Rockstar Newswire from time to time," it continues. "We do have just a few guidelines that we ask you to follow if you are going to post or stream on video sharing sites.
- Pre-Release Footage: No pre-release leaked footage of any kind: Any posting of in-game footage from leaked copies of the game prior to its official release date will be taken down, regardless of how the game was obtained. This includes "early unboxing" videos.
- Spoilers: Posting video showing the ending of the game, pure cutscenes or any other big reveal in the story. It's ok to show cutscenes as part of a larger play-through (or in a narrated 'Let's Play' type video) but isolated videos of the game's cinematics will be removed. If you are unsure if what you want to post is considered a spoiler, please contact copyright@take2games.com[1] and describe exactly what scene you are wondering about and in what context the scene would appear.
- In-game Entertainment: Things like the TV shows and comedy performances in Grand Theft Auto IV, or the silent movies in Red Dead Redemption. We prefer fans to experience these in the context of the game's world, so any posting of these in isolation will be flagged for removal."
TL/DR - feel free to stream/upload footage of GTA V to your heart's content - just don't spoil it for others. Since my copy hasn't turned up yet, that includes me. And I can get mighty cranky where spoilers are concerned. Fair warning.

Mighty No. 9 surpasses current-gen console stretch goal
Keiji Inafune's Mighty No. 9 Kickstarter has rushed past $2.2 million, meaning is should roll out Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii U versions at launch in 2015. The Kickstarter recently added stretch goals for PS4 and Xbox One versions (you know, your likely consoles in 2015) at the $3.3 million mark. With 14 days to go in the campaign, Mighty No. 9 still has plenty of time to rock out, pump up the bass and drum up support for future goals. Those include extra bosses, co-op and a lot of tantalizing "???" goals. Mighty No. 9 secured its original $900,000 funding request in three days.![]()

WARNING: JR Programmer V2 Clones on the market (really shit ones too lol)
As usual the cloners in China try to copy our products because they are so damn good. However they just can't seem to get it right - the quality is dogshit as usual.
They even try to copy the serial sticker - by having the same serial on every single one of them - DERP
It's not even like we charge a lot for these ffs. Anyway here's some pics - remember to buy from official resellers. Buying original product ensures that you support further development as well as getting a full guarantee and support. Buying clones just makes you a cheap asshole.

LITEON DG-16D4S - SLIM LTU2 Replacement PCB
Just to make sure before I buy the wrong thing. The TX LTU2 Replacement PCB for D5S will also work on the D4S correct? The reason I ask is because the one on xconsoles doesn't mention it working for the D4S drives. But I've seen on other sites that say it does. The item I am looking at is here http://www.xconsoles.com/products/tx...ement-pcb.html. I apologize in advance if this was also answered. I've search and can't really get a definite answer.

JUNGLE FLASHER How to flash a spoofed drive ?

A friend gave me his drive, it seems that this drive has been spoofed. He says me the drive is a Samsung, but JungleFlasher detect a Liteon DG-16D2S 74850c.
My question is, how to flash that drive ? I need to flash this drive as a Samsung or as a Liteon 74850c ?
(I don't know if it's a Samsung S25 or S28, I don't know either the version of custom firmware)
Thanks for future answers :D
